Smooth the lines.
Keep your expressions.
Neuromodulators that quiet the high-effort wrinkles, without quieting your face. You still look like you, just more rested.
The science
behind the smooth.
Botox Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA), Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA), and Letybo (letibotulinumtoxinA) are prescription injectables used to temporarily reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, the ones caused by repetitive facial movement like frowning and squinting.
Botox Cosmetic is FDA-approved for forehead lines, frown lines (glabellar lines), and crow's feet (lateral canthal lines).
Dysport is FDA-approved for frown lines (glabellar lines) in adults under 65.
Letybo is FDA-approved for frown lines (glabellar lines) in adults.
In practice, providers may use neuromodulators in other areas based on clinical judgement. Your consult is where we decide what's appropriate for you.
Natural.
Not frozen.
Wrinkles are not just aging. They're motion.
When you frown, the muscles between your brows contract and your skin folds. When you squint, the muscles around your eyes do the same. Over time, those folds start sticking around.
Botox Cosmetic, Dysport, and Letybo work by reducing muscle activity in targeted areas, so those expression lines soften. Untreated muscles still move normally, you can smile, laugh, and react like a human. The high-effort wrinkle creases just calm down.

Unit ranges are typical, actual dosing depends on muscle strength, anatomy, and the look you want. We'll map it together at your consult.
Same mechanism. Different tools.
All three are FDA-approved neuromodulators that soften expression lines by temporarily relaxing the muscle underneath. They're not interchangeable, though, and each has practical differences that matter for how we plan your treatment.
Botox Cosmetic.
Made by Allergan / AbbVie
The one you've heard of. FDA-approved for cosmetic use since 2002, Botox is the most studied and most name-recognized neuromodulator on the market. In continuous cosmetic use for over twenty years.
- Onset: results start showing in 3-5 days, peak around 2 weeks
- Duration: typically 3-4 months
- More localized diffusion, precise for smaller targeted areas
Dysport.
Made by Galderma
The spreader. FDA-approved for cosmetic use in 2009, Dysport tends to show results a few days sooner than Botox and has a slightly wider diffusion pattern. That spread is often a benefit for treating larger areas like the forehead.
- Onset: results often visible in 2-3 days
- Duration: typically 3-4 months
- Wider diffusion, well-suited for the forehead and broader zones
Letybo.
Made by Hugel
The newest option. FDA-approved for cosmetic use in early 2024, Letybo is manufactured in South Korea and has been used internationally for years. Same mechanism as Botox and Dysport, positioned as a value-friendly alternative.
- Onset: results start showing in 3-5 days (similar to Botox)
- Duration: typically 3-4 months
- Comparable safety and efficacy, often at a friendlier price point

The treatment
The injections are quick. Most appointments are done in about 10 to 20 minutes.
Back to your day
Most people return to normal routines immediately. No downtime, no production.
Patience pays. So does science.
You're not walking out "fully done" in the parking lot. These products take a beat.
- Softening usually begins within a few days as the effect ramps up
- Full results typically show around 1 to 2 weeks after treatment
- Results often last around 3 to 4 months, varying by person, area, and dosing
Minimal downtime. Real talk on side effects.
Most people have very little downtime, but small side effects can happen.
- Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at injection sites
- Rarely, effects like eyelid droop can occur depending on anatomy and placement

Planning a wedding, milestone, or moment-to-remember? Here's how we sequence injectables so you peak at exactly the right time.
If you've never had Botox or filler, schedule a consultation and initial session now. This lets you see how your muscles react and ensures you love the results before the final pre-event dose.
For returning patients, this is the second-to-last Botox round, the perfect opportunity to adjust dose or placement based on your trial run.
Schedule any dermal fillers, lips, cheeks, or under-eyes. Fillers can take up to four to six weeks to fully settle and for any deep bruising to resolve.
This is the sweet spot for your final neuromodulator treatment. Results peak at 2 weeks, leaving a 1-week buffer for any minor tweak-ments or follow-ups.
No more injections. From here on, focus on gentle hydration and facials to lock in your glow.

Ask about a Lip Flip, it uses small amounts of Botox around the mouth to subtly roll the upper lip outward. Or pair neuromodulators with Exilis skin tightening if your goal is smoother skin plus better overall texture and firmness.

All three are botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators used to temporarily reduce dynamic wrinkles. Botox Cosmetic has FDA-approved cosmetic indications for forehead lines, frown lines, and crow's feet. Dysport's cosmetic indication is for glabellar (frown) lines in adults under 65. Letybo, the newest of the three (FDA-approved in 2024), is also indicated for glabellar lines in adults. In practice, all three can be used off-label for the same treatment areas in the hands of a trained injector.
-
Many people see results that last around 3 to 4 months, depending on the area treated and individual factors. Botox Cosmetic labeling notes glabellar duration is approximately 3 to 4 months, Dysport data shows glabellar improvement up to four months, and Letybo trials showed a similar 3 to 4 month duration.
-
You may notice early changes within a few days as the effect builds, with fuller results typically showing around 1 to 2 weeks. Botox Cosmetic labeling describes onset beginning in 1 to 2 days with intensity increasing during the first week.
-
Not if it's done right. The goal is softening, not erasing your personality.
-
No. Each product's labeling states its potency units are not interchangeable with other botulinum toxin products. Botox and Letybo units are closer to a 1:1 relationship in clinical practice, while Dysport typically requires about 2.5 to 3 units to match 1 Botox unit. Translation: don't compare units across brands like they're the same currency.

It depends on muscle strength, anatomy, and the look you want. We can give a range after a quick facial assessment at your consult.

Many providers recommend waiting a bit before intense exercise. We'll give you clear aftercare instructions based on your treatment areas.
